When I was about ten years old, my mom got a BeDazzler device. She bedazzled everything – hats, shirts, vests and shoes. You name it, she bedazzled it but because replacement or additional rhinestones were costly, we, kids, weren’t allowed to play with it.This resin jelly rhinestone bedazzling kit has, according to the listing because I wasn’t about to count, an amazing 48,000 3mm resin rhinestones and they are forty-eight gorgeous colours. Patience (and good eyesight) are a definite must. The process is as follows:-apply a very small amount of glue-pick up a rhinestone and position it on the glue-press gently for several seconds-repeat the processIt is advisable to work on small sections at a time and apply the minimum amount of glue so that glue does not set or dry out before you can place the rhinestones. I would recommend, depending on what your project is, drawing out your design so that you are not guessing about rhinestone placement at critical moments. Graph paper (with the little squares) can be helpful in creating a design or pattern. Or, you can just wing it, the choice is yours.My first project is going to be working on a picture frame to house my favourite picture of my two brothers. I am going through my picture frame collection to find one with a wide, flat border that would accept the rhinestones well. I plan to write/trace the word “Brothers” in script with pencil onto the frame’s border then fill it in with rhinestones. I hope to also draw some other little designs like hockey sticks, baseballs and toys. I might even find miniature items like baseballs and apply rhinestones to them and then glue them to the frame’s border. I’ll have to see as I go along which approach works best.I do find the rhinestones small so a magnifying glass may be required down the line. Take care not to just flip the cases of rhinestones open. I found static electricity sent many flying even though I opened my cases very carefully. Using a little scoop or spoon to remove a batch of the colour rhinestones you are working on is very helpful. If you can, work on a white surface even if it is just a piece of Bristol board or several pieces of white paper taped together. Having the contrast behind the rhinestones made a big difference for me.There are forty-eight thousand little 3mm rhinestones. That should be more than enough to get your creative juices flowing. The colours are gorgeous and vibrant. With the tweezers, pickup pencil/tool and glue, you have everything you need to get started.While I was doodling the word brothers, I remembered the word “Believe” that appears on Macy’s around Christmas. I checked the font and it is called Bickham Script Pro. I think that my second project is also going to be a picture frame for Christmas with the word “Believe” in that same font. I’ll just have to decide what colour rhinestones to use.My friend also has some earring blanks in teardrop shapes. I am going to ask for a couple and will try to design a couple of unique earrings (which I also collect). The more ideas that come to mind, the more excited I get. The listing shows items like cameras, phone cases, cups, candle holders, lipstick cases, compacts, jewelry, hair decorations, shoes and more being decorated. The description indicates that the glue, which dries clear, works well on fabric which means items like sneakers, shirts and hats would make great canvases as well.Judging by the tiny size (3mm) of the rhinestones, I would not recommend this craft for a child under the age of eight and even then, with supervision. My niece absolutely loves these and has been bedazzling all sorts of stuff with them. It’s been really cool to see her creative side come out while doing something she enjoys.The kit has a ton of colors and everything she needs, so she’s been able to just jump in and start making things. She also mentioned the glue is absolutely the greatest, and it’s been holding up really well for her projects. It’s really made it easy for her to just focus on being creative and having fun.
This is an incredibly organized kit! I received a smaller jelly rhinestone kit recently that came in a mixed bag -- no plastic, sorted container. It was such a bummer. Having to hunt for the right color is so time-consuming and having to separate so many rhinestones myself to be better prepared for a project would be an absolute nightmare. I'm really glad I upgraded to this set. Even the color "stories" are well organized. You have more of the pastels and brights in one box, and the moodier, darker colors in another. The gems have a lot of sparkle to them and the colors are vibrant.The 3 tubes of jewelry glue make it possible to do a group project, which is exactly what I have planned. I want to do a craft night with some friends, which is another plus to having two sorted containers so everyone doesn't have to be on top of one another to share.I think this kit is well worth the cost and I can't wait to get creative with it!

I won't count every single rhinestone to verify if there are exactly 48,000 pieces. It's just a giant pile of resin jelly gems. Everything is nicely organized in the grid cases so nobody is digging through 48 colors to find the right shade. The kit came with a white marking pencil and a diamond pickup pen for positioning. Found three tubes of B7000 glue with fine needle tips for precision work. That adhesive has a low viscosity and a 3 to 5 minute initial set time. You still need a full 24 hours to cure before the bond is permanent. The included tweezers are pretty flimsy. When I tried helping them set up the project, I noticed the glue has a crystal clear finish once dry so it won't cloud up the stones. My daughters are already planning which shoes to bedazzle first. I'm just looking forward to sipping my home-brewed Vietnamese iced coffee in total silence while they focus on one rhinestone at a time. Takes quite a bit of dexterity. That isn't an issue for my 9-year-old, but the 5-year-old needed some help initially. I'll probably buy better tweezers for her small fingers so she can keep going.

This set is so neat. The product photos do a poor job at portraying the iridescent effect of the rhinestones. They are so pretty. I ordered them to supplement my stash of leftover colors that come with the premade painting sets. But I've started using some of these colors in place of the matte colors in the paintings.What else... There are 48 different colors in the set. A few of them are awfully similar to each other, and in those instances, I would have preferred a single color with more rhinestones instead of different colors with only a 1,000. But I can't really complain about it. Just wanted to note that if you really like one of the colors and tend to use a LOT of that color, there probably won't be enough.Overall, really cool set with beautiful colors.
